What does God say about love and eternity?

If we are going to understand God and the Bible we need to first understand what He has told us about love and eternity. Is He saying, if we do not love, we cannot know God? 1 Jn 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” Is He saying, we either believe in eternity, or we will believe God does not exist? Jn 5:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Is He saying He never lies? Numb 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath

What does God say about forgiveness?

According to Merriam-Webster, when we forgive someone we voluntarily give up our indignant displeasure or persistent ill will for them. These sound like strong feelings. But, what does God say about forgiveness? Matt 6:14-15, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Since God has told us we have all sinned, is forgiveness part of the process of our accepting God’s offer of salvation? How many times should we forgive someone? Matt 18:21-22, “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven

Jn 17:20-22, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” Is God not saying there is one world and His word is being preached so that all may find Him in it? Did He not give us all the same opportunity to accept His offer of eternal life as part of His family,

What Does God Say About Bullying?

Merriam-Webster defines bullying as: “abuse and mistreatment of someone vulnerable by someone stronger, more powerful, etc.” Why would someone choose to be abusive? Is this a demonstration of fear or misunderstanding? In our society, bullying usually begins with some form of verbal abuse. Merriam-Webster defines abuse as: “language that condemns or vilifies usually unjustly, intemperately, and angrily.” Most of the bullying I have witnessed, either personally or through a news outlet, includes anger and the appearance of hatred. It is the outward display of a feeling of fear caused by a misunderstanding regarding another person or group. How does God tell us to treat people when we h

What Does God Say About "Living In The Moment?"

“Living in the moment,” means fully enjoying each moment, rather than worrying about the past or fearing the future. “So free we seem, so fettered fast we are!” - Robert Browning, Andrea del Sarto. Browning’s observation is that we struggle to appear to be free; while the truth is we continue to allow our fears to fetter us to our past and our hopes for the future, thus limiting our enjoyment of the present. Our inability to live in the moment today is demonstrated by the number of people taking drugs to cope. It is fear that keeps telling us we are not good enough and never will be. What does God say about fear? 1 Jn 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
