What does God say about the voices in our heads?

We all hear voices in our heads, sometimes competing ones encouraging us to support opposing ideas. Where do these voices come from? Whose voices are they? How are we to decide which ones to listen to? 1 Kgs 19:11-13, “And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his m

What does God say about the clocks He has placed in our world?

God has left us clues, in all of His creation, to help us find our way to Him. His prophetic messages include clocks with specific dates and times, most of which have already been fulfilled. But, He also placed clocks throughout His creation, so that even the most adamant of us cannot deny the clues, Rom 1:20, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Everything God does is intentional, including the perfect harmony of His creation, which provides the evidence of His existence, if we would only try to understand it, Ps 8:3-4, “When I co

What does God say about seeking pleasure?

Does God call us to seek our own pleasure above the needs and wants of others? Jam 2:8, “If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:” Does loving our neighbor mean we care about their needs as much as we care about ours? Phil 2:3-4, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” Does God ask us to do this to demonstrate His love, so others will be able to see the goodness of God’s nature and be drawn to reason with Him? Rom 15:1-2, “We then that are strong ought to bea

What does God say about money?

Lk 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Either we choose to serve God, or the devil will deceive us into thinking money is God, Matt 13:22, “He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.” Once we choose to serve God, we realize everything He created belongs to Him and we no longer need to strife for money, Ps 24:1, “The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” For when

What does God say about addictions?

Jam 1:13-14, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” The devil is always looking for our weaknesses, our lusts, to tempt us into an addiction, 1 Pet 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Once we are lured into action by a temptation, we surrender our will to the power of the addiction, Rom 6:16, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto ri
