What does God say about war, sacrificing and suffering?

This week we commemorate the brave souls who have sacrificed everything for us! Our military, police officers and firefighters; the men and women who allow the rest of us to enjoy our blessed safety and freedom! Thanks and blessings, to all of you for your service! God tells us we are in the middle of a spiritual war between good and evil, Eph 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Suffering and sacrifices are part of this war. Merriam-Webster defines war as: “a struggle or competition between opposing forces for a particular end” and sac

What Does God Say About Forgiveness?

According to Merriam-Webster, when we forgive someone we voluntarily give up our indignant displeasure or persistent ill will for them. These sound like strong feelings. But, what does God say about forgiveness? Matt 6:14-15, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Since God has told us we have all sinned, Rom 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” is forgiveness part of the process of our accepting God’s offer of salvation? Can we say we believe in Jesus and not forgive others? Truly believing in Jesus means we begin the p

What does God say about children?

Psalm 127:3-4 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” God gives us children as part of His plan to create an eternal family, Gen 1:27-28, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” God has plans for all of us who willingly accept His offer to become part of His eternal fa

What does God treasure?

Merriam-Webster defines treasure as: “wealth (such as money, jewels, or precious metals) stored up or hoarded; wealth of any kind or in any form; a store of money in reserve; something of great worth or value; a person esteemed as rare or precious.” Treasures come in many forms and are valued based on the wants of the people doing the evaluating. God spends more time on treasures, money and every other kind of treasure than any other subject in the Bible. Why? Because He knows we humans love what we treasure, Matt 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” He also knows we are incapable of loving two competing ideas without it creating stress and disease, Matt 6:

What does God say about Truth?

Does God value the Truth? Zech 8:16-17, “These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.” Apparently, God hates anything short of the Truth. What more is there to say? Fortunately, there is much more to say, for today we are surrounded by lies being passed on as the truth. The confusion about what really is the Truth is overwhelming. So, can man create a truth better than God’s? Is 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your wa
