What does God say about death?

Gen 2:7, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” God turned dust into a living soul by breathing His Spirit into man. When the body dies the first death, Eccl 12:7, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it”, the spirit returns to God. God tells us not to fear the first death, Matt 10:28, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Only God can kill the soul. Eccl 9:5, “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know no

What does God say about our transformation?

Rom 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” This transformation process begins with the renewing of our minds, when we begin to prove what is the good and perfect will of God. We can either choose to conform to this world and all we see happening around us, or we can be transformed by the will of God into the image of Christ Jesus, 2 Cor 3:18, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” God has made His will for us perfectly clear, Phil 4:

What does God say about friendships?

Are we meant to be social, to have friends and family? Gen 2:18, “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” God knows we need friends and family. But, what does the Bible tell us about friendships? God is calling each of us to lovingly encourage each other toward good works and away from evil ones, 1 Thes 5:14-15, “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.” Does God use our friendships to improve our character? Is thi

What does God say about His plan for us?

A New Year, a new plan, a new beginning, or is it? Are we supposed to change our plan every year? Or, does God already have a plan for each of us? Would it be better to find out what God’s plan for us is and work each year on the process of transforming our lives to the completion His plan? Jer 1:5, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Sounds like God created a plan for our lives, before He even created us? We will only choose to follow Him if we hear His voice calling us, Jn 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” and, we will not hea
