The Cornerstone

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them...But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby...Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;" Eph. 2:10, 13-16, 19-20. Jesus is the cornerstone upon which everything else is built.

He is not a truth among many. He is the truth, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jn. 14:6, which allows everything good to exist in harmony, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Rom. 8:28, and one day He will separate the good into Himself, "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:" Matt. 25:34, creating heaven, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Rev. 21:1, an eternal place of love, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Rev. 21:4. Anything called truth, which is built on any other cornerstone, will eventually fall away, "And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." Matt. 7:26-27.

A life built upon any other cornerstone will not find the perfect love and joy, which is only possible in His arms. For He is the only servant willing to die for our sins, "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;" 2 Cor. 15:3.
